I don'...I like this particular saint very much. I don't think she is a fake saint. It was all orchestrated by God with a purpose. I am still reading and still trying to get the exact lesson. She was very strong woman with a high self-esteem. I don't think that pretending to be something else was to be of help. It was the nuns fault to vote for her as abadess as she clearly said no and if they truly respected her wisdom they must have had obeyed her will. I notice that saints have very low self-esteem while the normal people I know who are just worldly people in and out of church are very impetuous of character. I was always very meek and not so much have changed I could tell. But certainly I have had gained some courage after a while. Everyone wants to silence me, definitely and sometimes I don't know if I am wrong or not. The Devil does not exist. God is one and he plays this game as he pleases. So I prefer the Devil to please speak to me in a clear voice. For what I saw the Devil is a very sound character when He does speaks as for the very coherent discourses given through Anneliese Michelle. If the Devil is complaining maybe we should pay an ear. The World is so bad these days that even Satan is praying his rosary. The full fault is that of church or the government as I went to Catholic school but must people did not. I was a top A student because my parents were strict but most kids had not that chance. I had to Excell at everything and still be humble about my character and appearance. I had to present myself very humble. I don't know if I did good or wrong because nobody else followed the rules and I feel like an island. So I don't know if harsh penance is needed when the whole world is having fun or if through penance I can end the fun for everyone and constrict their souls. It is difficult truly. I was offered a scholarship for engineering not an opening in a convent and I just looked like a nun in all sense. I just hope my life have not been in vain and that my efforts are counted in Heaven and not in the material world where I had to play. No body is recruiting Carmelites these days. I was recruited to enter engineering school. I see that people in the church are not shining. The church is half dead. I don't know really what's happening. But I like this saint. And I think God can take any shape or form or name of his liking and play with humans. And every saint like Sor Juana Inés has a lesson for us. A life is never wasted if we pay close attention. And indeed some non saints of the past were truly my favorites, like Magdalene and Sor Juana. There is no way I can believe Magdalene is not a true saint. Let us remember Mary Magdalene is one of the most defiled women in history under all kind of false accusations pendant against her. It is all calumny!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7233237209177841826.post-35276772947932961722023-07-19T15:58:03.922-04:002023-07-19T15:58:03.922-04:00Intrinsically evil, of course not. It is not a proclamation of the Church's infallible teaching authority, but a fallible record of the private and prophetic revelations given to a saint, and her musings about those revelations. As such, we are encouraged by the Church to accept it and respect it with the virtue of "prudence," i.e., as on the whole trustworthy, rather than with the virtue of "divine faith," i.e., as infallibly revealed by God, and therefore necessary to be believed by all the faithful. Thus, a faithful Catholic could largely disbelieve it and not be guilty of "heresy," but one who did so would still be guilty of rashness and imprudence. It is overwhelmingly unlikely that a Diary which has been fully examined by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (the Church's highest doctrinal tribunal under the Pope) and by the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints, and has been praised and quoted repeatedly by popes, and whose author has been canonized as a "saint" (that is, as someone "full-to-overflowing" with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth) would contain serious and unqualified errors and illusions. The Holy Spirit does not abandon the Church when she is making such important acts of discernment (see Jn. 16:13; Acts 15:28). None of what is written below belongs to me:
The Vatican only made its original erroneous judgment because they had been operating on misinformation. And once they did have access to all the facts of the case, they were in a position to make a definitive and positive judgement. As stated in that web article:
The fact is that the only translation the Vatican possessed of the Diary of St. Faustina in the 1950s was a faulty translation of the book into Italian, which included gross distortions of what Sister Faustina had written (for example, our Lord said to Sister Faustina, “I am Love and Mercy itself” in entry 1074, but the Italian translation makes it appear that Faustina was making this claim about herself!). It was almost impossible for religious documents of any kind to be smuggled out of Poland to the Vatican in the 1950s because Poland was trapped behind the Iron Curtain, and Eastern Europe lay under the grip of Stalin. Thus, the Vatican placed a ban on the message and devotion largely because it was operating without the original documents, that is, on the basis of misinformation. Cardinal Wojtyla [from Poland] knew this, and when the opportunities arose later to get the correct information about Sister Faustina to the authorities in Rome, he and his confreres in the Polish episcopate did not hesitate to do so. Moreover, by 1978 the authorities in Rome also had on file the extraordinarily detailed theological analysis of Sister Faustina’s Diary written in French by Fr. Ignacy Rozycki, one of Europe’s leading Thomists and a member of the Pontifical Theological Commission. This weighty tome by Fr. Rozycki exonerated Sister Faustina of all suspicions of heterodoxy, and must have been another factor that led the CDF to lift the ban. In short ... there is no need ... to speculate as to why the Vatican banned the Divine Mercy devotion in 1958-1959. We know from the historical sources that they had very few — and largely inaccurate — sources to rely on in 1958, as the CDF itself implies in 1978 when the ban was lifted.
It should be noted here that Sr. Faustina actually prophesied that the Divine Mercy message and devotion that Christ was revealing to her would one day seem to be completely discredited, but ultimately it would be vindicated and become a source of countless blessings for the whole Church. For example, she wrote:
There will come a time when this work [of mercy], which God is demanding so very much, will be as though utterly undone. And then God will act with great power, which will give evidence of its authenticity. It will be a new splendor for the Church, although it has been dormant in it from long ago (Diary, 378).
